USAP CRNA Leadership

USAP CRNAs discuss leadership development and leadership opportunities that amplify CRNA voices across the organization.

  • USAP CRNAs participating in round table discussions at USAP's 2020 Leadership Conference. It's important to ensure our leaders have ample opportunity to share best practices with other team members from across the country while developing their leadership skills in and out of the operating room.
  • The USAP Cares initiative combines USAP volunteerism and strategically aligned company resources to address essential community needs. Pictured here are USAP team members volunteering at the Central Texas Food Bank.
  • When USAP CRNAs were not busy taking care of COVID patients themselves, they were holding drives collecting items to support their colleagues working in the COVID units. Here a few members of the Houston team are shown with the goodies they collected and are preparing to drop off to COVID teams.
  • LTC CJ Johnson, CRNA, cared for Ebola patients in Sierra Leone while in the military. Armed with that experience and expertise, he arranged hands-on training for each clinician to practice proper donning and doffing of PPE. His leadership, self-sacrifice and willingness to jump into any situation with COVID positive or PUI patients to help ensure the safety of fellow USAP clinicians quickly earned him the title of “Safety Officer.” CJ has worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and his fellow clinicians are grateful for his guidance!
  • The USAP CRNA Leadership Award recognizes CRNAs in leadership roles who display outstanding abilities to support their teams, work with fellow hospital clinicians and ensure all patients recieve the highest-quality care. Pictured are USAP CRNA Leadership Award Recipients (left to right): Scott Detiveux, DNP, CRNA; Steve Boatright, CRNA; Kevin Kennedy, CRNA; Dr. David Blaylock; Steven Taylor, CRNA; Ashley Valure, DNP, CRNA; Dr. Gary Flores; Mike Friguletto, President
  • Crystal Sheffield, CRNA is the education coordinator at her facility. In March she was working on innovative ways to protect her team and best serve her patients, and discovered a unique way to create a shield out of a sterile surgical pack bag. The great advantage? It's all disposable in a self-contained bag.
