American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology

Founded in 1931, the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) is the professional association representing nearly 57,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and student nurse anesthetists nationwide (or nearly 90 percent of all U.S. nurse anesthetists). The AANA promulgates education and practice standards and guidelines and affords consultation to both private and governmental entities regarding nurse anesthetists and their practice. The AANA staff is headquartered in Park Ridge, Ill., with a federal government affairs office in Washington, D.C.
